Ian Scherger - Non-Executive Director

Ian Scherger is an experienced business executive and marketing specialist, having operated in both consumer and business-to-business markets for over 25 years. He has worked in New Zealand and Australia for major global and local brands such as Vodafone, Clear Communications (British Telecom), XTRA (Telecom NZ) and Apple Computer NZ.

In late 2005, Ian started the consultancy company Brandman. working with major brands including Westpac, NZ Post, Southern Cross Building Society, Jade Software Corporation, Tait Radio Communications, Gallagher Group and others. He has also launched a retail cycling brand, Bicyclette, which won the retailers association 2007 Top Shop Award.

His previous positions include Chief Marketing Officer and director of Vodafone Australia, the Executive Business Director of Clear Communications and has held senior management roles in sales and marketing for Apple Computer, Telecom XTRA, Advantage Communications and Ashton-Tate (a US based PC software company). 

In addition to his management and marketing expertise Ian spent 7 years as a business systems and software designer, including working in London for the merchant bank Hill Samuel designing key systems for the deregulation of the Stock Exchange.

Ian holds a Postgraduate Diploma (Marketing) and a Bachelor of Science Degree (Computer Science) from Auckland University.
