LINC systems that can be converted include those running on any
Unisys supported platform, including A Series, Clearpath, 2200,
EAE and Unix systems.
Data can be converted from DMS II, RDMS, Oracle, and so on.
The target environment is the JADE software platform running under
Windows, Red Hat Linux and SUSE Linux on any Intel-compatible hardware
platform. In preferred relationships, support for other IBM hardware
platforms is available on request.
The JADE software platform provides a comprehensive object-oriented
development, runtime, and storage environment, with the ability
to publish data in real-time to relational databases such as SQL
Server and Oracle.
This case
study analyses the performance of converted systems on various
platforms compared with A Series.

"I am sorry that we
did not convert to JADE sooner, as there was a substantial
reduction in cost and a tremendous improvement in system performance.
We now have more system abilities as opposed to LINC system
restrictions."

Vice President of Technical
Services
National Health Systems Inc. Colorado, USA
"We saw the writing
on the wall that we'd have to get rid of our mainframes because
they cost too much to maintain. The challenge was to get off
the mainframe and go to a less expensive implementation."
Otis Quattlebaum
IT Director
Shelby County Schools

"The migration to JADE
has enabled us to move our system into the 21st century while
retaining our investment in Intellectual Property and knowledge."
