modules
INTEGRATED: "To make into a whole by bringing all parts
together; unify." This is the founding principal of JADE
Master Terminal.
The JADE Master system ships with all functionality available,
including Multi-Terminal, General Cargo, Reefer Monitoring, Mobile
R/F or cellular connected device support, EDI messaging, Vessel
Scheduling (VTMIS), integrated reporting and much more.
The system does not have "modules" in the traditional
sense, rather it has functional areas controlled exclusively by
access rights.
JMT controls access to functionality using a license key, this
enables us to fit a solution to the customer's current requirements.
Should these requirements change, additional functionality can be
enabled and used within minutes of receiving the new key.
The major benefit of this holistic approach is a painless process
when it comes to accessing additional functionality, simply enter
your new license key and the features become immediately available.
Ship Planning
Fully integrated ship planning, using all of the information
available in the system to make intelligent decisions. Automatic
load planning, automatic discharge planning including "on-the-
fly" yard location planning, triggered by cargo handling equipment
pickup of cargo from under the hook, based on sophisticated heuristic
algorithms. Highly graphical representation of cargo crane's progress
and interactive graphic of TEU throughput versus ship's targets.
This is ship's planning that really works.
Multi-Terminal
Run any number of cargo terminals over the Internet off the same
fully integrated system, mix and match capabilities as required
at each terminal. Report globally or locally.
General Cargo
General Cargo strongly integrated with the container aspects of
the system, define any number of cargo and products, define attributes,
receive cargo via BOL's, stack in yard or warehouse locations, perform
stocktakes, receive and process orders by either direct loadout
or packing into containers,
Reefer Monitoring
Automated reefer monitoring support via power supply lines to REFCON
system (as used by P&O), hand held capture of reefer temperature
readings, support for powered containers.
Mobile Devices
Integrated support for Microsoft Windows-CE based devices using
narrow band, 2.4Ghz, 3G or GPRS asynchronous communications as well
as Teklogix narrow band legacy systems.
EDI Messaging
Full integrated EDI messaging capability, supporting over 70 industry-standard
EDI messages, monitoring of email addresses and automatic application
of valid EDI messages to the system for such things as bay plans,
stowage plans and customs clearances.
VTMIS - Vessel Scheduling
Schedule vessel visits to harbors and berths, schedule resources
required by the visits, plan movements and because its integrated
with the rest of JMT, automatically gain access to invoicing and
comprehensive reporting.

Port Nelson have recently upgraded their existing Teklogix narrow band RDT
equipment with state-of-the-art heavily ruggedized laptops running the Jade
Smart Thin Client Jade Master Terminal application using Telecom's CDMA
cellphone cellular network for communications to and from the devices.
Geoff Shepard from Port Nelson states they are extremely impressed with the
minimal bandwidth being used by the JMT application's smart forms which are
all touch-screen high definition colour units mounted in the terminal's
fork lift machinery, with bandwidth consumption well under expectations
making this a very cost-effective option to maintaining your own 802.11 or
narrow band radio data network. In addition, because the system is using
cellular encrypted telephone technology the signals are completely
unaffected by steel structures, the radio network is no longer Port Nelson's
responsibility.
Feedback from the machinery drivers' is overwhelmingly positive, with
workshops held at the port between staff and JMT developers to determine the
optimum screen layouts that fitted how they actually do their job.
