Video: Master Terminal at Breakbulk Americas 2014
Houston hosted Breakbulk Americas 2014 recently, which gave us another chance to let American port operators know about Jade Master Terminal. Keith McSwain, our business manager for the region, was part of the event’s video interview series.
Keith fielded questions about Jade’s background, the origins of Master Terminal, and its specialty, mixed cargo ports. Here’s Keith’s take on mixed cargo - what it is, and how Master Terminal can handle whatever comes through your terminal.
Mixed cargo terminals handle more than just containers. You can handle breakbulk, bulk, roll-in stock - in our system, I don’t care if it’s cannonballs, Master Terminal can handle it all.
These are high-value commodities, and it’s very important to track them through your terminal, into a container or onto the ship, without damaging or losing pieces. This is where our product comes in.
It doesn't matter if it’s a container, breakbulk, bulk, rolling stock - the way the system treats the cargo from a process and a procedure standpoint is the same, regardless. This becomes extremely valuable for the operator who’s in the yard every day, working in the system.
Here's the whole interview, including Keith’s description of our implementation process, the origins of Master Terminal, and how it's spread around the globe today:
