Prime Minister Christopher Luxon Attended Jade Velocity 2025: A Landmark Moment for Jade

History has a way of repeating, and in 1987 the sitting Prime Minister of the time David Lange officially opened the Unisys LINC Development Centre, the original base for what later became Jade Software. That occasion was a milestone in New Zealand’s software industry. While much has changed since, the same spirit of innovation and ambition continues to shape Jade’s direction. “Our history is rooted in innovation, and seeing the Prime Minister join us at JV25 reinforces the impact the growing Jade community continues to have on New Zealand and abroad,” said Justin Mercer, CEO of Jade Software. “It is a proud moment for our team and a signal of the value our work delivers to customers and the wider industry."

JV25 brought together developers, business leaders, partners, and customers from New Zealand, Australia, and beyond, showcasing the innovation, collaboration, and leadership driving the sector. Luxon’s presence underscored recognition at the highest levels of government for the role companies like Jade play in shaping the role of technology in New Zealand future.
